I'm in a new video, Congress: Legislation vs. Regulation
And so is my colleague Philip Wallach!
This week, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) released this new video.
The Constitution designates Congress as the primary lawmaking institution in our federal government. Yet, an enormous amount of lawmaking gets done by the executive branch through regulations.
Phil Wallach and I explain that improving Congress's internal capacity is essential to providing effective oversight of the executive branch and keeping the federal government accountable to the American people. In particular, the creation of a Congressional Regulation Office would bolster Congress's ability to review agency regulations. By the way, our article laying out the what’s and why’s of a Congressional Regulation Office is here.
this is really good, Kevin ... thanks for posting!
